Gardening Fun Day

  • Rocky Mount State Historic Site 200 Hyder Hill Road Piney Flats, TN, 37686 United States (map)

Spring is a season of new beginnings and growth. It was also a time for many mountain families to start planting crops, vegetable gardens, and producing livestock. This production kept the family going for the rest of the year.

Looking for a fun filled spring day for the entire family? Look no further than Rocky Mount State Historic Site’s Gardening Fun Day! There is something for everyone to enjoy, including demonstrations, local vendors and craft artisans, food trucks, and more. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to learn about modern and colonial spring traditions!

Come experience 18th century life at its finest with demos onsite that will include blacksmithing, fireplace cooking, spring chores, and much more. There will be corn hole, and other 18th century games available for all ages, weather permitting. Crafts, including flower pot painting painting, birdhouse building, paper wreath making, and candle making will be offered for an additional fee.
