Tonight at Rocky Mount: the night before the march

On September 24, 1780, Patriot militia gathered and camped near Rocky Mount. The next day, forces from Virginia and the frontier joined other militia at Sycamore Shoals. Their campaign led to the Battle of Kings Mountain. Tonight, the Overmountain Victory Trail Association brings that story back to Rocky Mount.

Meet OVTA reenactors at the encampment and hear how neighbors and farmers joined a campaign that became a turning point in the Revolutionary War.

Bring a chair. Some seating will be available. The program is planned for the barn field, weather permitting. If it rains, the story moves to the auditorium.
